Math and Science Night 2016

Join us Thursday, March 24th from 5:30-7:30pm for a night of fun with science and math, featuring experiments, crafts, and activities for kids of all ages and their families.

Featured Speaker: Kellen Marshall

IMG_3354Kellen is a doctoral candidate in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago and a graduate of Chicago State University. A Chicago native, Kellen attended three different high schools Lane Tech, Simeon and Morgan Park. Her research looks at the relationship between transportation and the ecosystem services of urban agriculture. Kellen is also passionate about communicating science and urban ecology and is executive producer of Living Chicago, an online blog and web series that educates people on how their local environments help support food, fun and businesses in the city. Kellen lives in Edgewater on the north side of Chicago with her three children London, Landan and Keagan.

2015 Math and Science Night

msn2015logoSayre’s Math and Science Night is Thursday, February 26 from 5-7 pm. All students and their families are welcome to attend this free event. At 5:45, Guest Speaker Tara Short of Green Edventures will speak in the auditorium about non-traditional careers in science and her adventures educating groups about conservation and swimming with whales. Other activities include “Great Graphs,” “Starry Night,” “Let’s Build!,” “Material Science Madness,” “Science Magic,” and “Coding.” For more details, read the flyer.
