Girls in Kindergarten and First Grade are invited to join a new Daisy Troop:
Hi, my name is Judi Dziwak, and I am the Troop Leader for the new Daisy Troop at Sayre Language Academy. Initially the troop was only for the 1st grade, but there has been some interest from parents with kindergarteners too. We are now welcoming kindergarteners into our troop, however we will need a parent to take over the Daisy Troop next year as the 1st graders become Brownies.
We are also inviting any 1st graders and kindergarteners in the area from schools other than Sayre. This is a great opportunity for girls to connect with other girls in the neighborhood in their same age bracket.
The first troop meeting will be at the West Belmont Library at 3104 N. Narragansett Ave. on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 3:30 – 5:00 pm. Meetings will then be held there the first and third Wednesday of each month going forward.
If you have any questions, you can contact me at email@example.com or 773-386-0772.

The Sayre Family and Friends Organization will meet at 6pm, Tuesday, October 8th at the McDonalds at North Ave and 1st Ave in Melrose Park (there’s a playground for the kids). The main focus of the meeting will be to further discuss this year’s fundraisers and events, and set proposed dates to be submitted for approval at the LSC meeting the following Thursday. We’ll also set dates for FFO meetings for the rest of the year.
Wednesday, Sept. 11 2013 is the deadline for FFO gymwear forms to be turned into the office! Orders must include exact change cash payment and are not refundable or exchangeable.
The Sayre Family and Friends Organization will announce official meeting dates/times/places soon, but we’ll be meeting informally at the Sayre school playground on Monday, September 9 at 6pm to discuss ideas and plans for the year so we can submit a list of proposed events to the Local School Council at their meeting this week. Please bring a chair or blanket.
Sayre Curriculum Night will take place Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 5:00-7:00pm. This is a great informal opportunity to meet and talk to your kids’ teachers and see what they’ll be learning.
There will be two sessions so parents with more than one child at Sayre can meet different teachers. A schedule of meeting locations for all grade levels will be posted near the main office.
