We had a great turnout at the Ice Cream Social tonight, it was great to meet and talk to so many new and old parents. Thanks to those that signed up for our email list and Yahoogroup, we’ll send out a mailing soon with more info about the FFO and how you can get involved, along with lots of resources for Sayre parents. If you’d like to be added to the mailing list, please email us.
The start of school can be confusing, especially for parents of new students, so remember, the FFO Yahoogroup is a great way to find answers to your questions, get involved in your child’s school, and meet other Sayre parents and Galewood residents. We’d also love to see you at our first meeting of the school year on September 10, where we’ll vote on some vacant officer positions.
Classes at Sayre Language Academy (CPS Track R) start the day after Labor Day, Tuesday, September 4. This school year, CPS has introduced a longer school day, starting at 8:45am and running to 3:45pm. Drop-off is at 8:40am, students can be picked up at 3:45pm.
Classroom assignments and other forms and information will be distributed at the Back to School Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 5-7pm.
Be sure to visit the Sayre FFO table at the Ice Cream Social to get on our mailing list, submit your contact information for the school directory, and learn how you can get involved in the FFO (More info here!) We’ll also be taking orders for gymwear, please stop by the table to size your child properly, we can not exchange or refund mis-sized gymwear.
If you can help setting up (4-5pm), serve ice cream or pass out packets (5-7pm), or clean up (7-7:45pm) please email Jan or call 773-991-3609.
